Important History Facts About Chile

Republic of Chile is a country in South America, which occupies a long and narrow coastal strip between the Andes Mountain and the Pacific Ocean. Chile is bordered to the north by Peru, to the east by Bolivia and Argentina, to the west by the Pacific Ocean and to the south by the Antarctic. There are so many important history facts about Chile. Nearly 12,000 years ago, migrating Native Americans settled in the fertile valleys and coastal areas, which is the present day Chile now. In the 16th century the Spanish conquistadors began to subdue and colonize the region of contemporary Chile, and the territory became a colony from 1540 to 1818. When it gained independence from Spain in 1818. Chile's economic development was successively marked by the export of agricultural produce, copper and fish etc.
