Facts about Chile City Temuco Facts

Temuco, sixth largest city in Chile, is a city in Southern Chile and the capital of Araucaria Region. Due to many lakes and lakeside resorts, Temuco is one of the most popular tourist hub in Chile. World famous Chilean poetry has its roots in Temuco, which is the home of two Nobel award winner poets Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda. Temuco is surrounded by many plantations and coniferous forests, which produce vast agricultural crops and fruits and vegetables.





The climate in Temuco is humid and temperate climate. Temuco is also prone to natural disasters such as frequent cyclones and earthquake. During the recent earthquake in February 2010, Temuco was one of the largest affected cities besides Santiago and other cities. Araucaria museum, Red Cross building, Blue House, Art Building, large shopping centers, malls, casino, art gallery, main square, Nielol Hill, Mapuche arts and Crafts Center, Southern Andean Volcano Observatory, and Campanario Tower, are some of the important tourist attractions in Temuco.
